My eldest daughter Twyla completed today the Icon she started back in September in England with Aidan Hart!
It had been near completion for a couple of months. She had paused on it as she was working on specific painting assignments from Aidan Hart, which have been challenging and rewarding for her. What she did today was: filled in the halo with color, added the lines within the halo to create the cross within it, and added the Greek letter inscriptions within and outside the halo. These inscriptions are traditional to any Icon of Jesus Christ.
Here is the Icon close-up. In the words of S. Thomas: My Lord and my God!
As a number of people have asked, she is not quite ready to take commissions. But she Twyla will have her own website soon to display and chronicle her work.
Until then, pray that God continue to guide Twyla in this holy vocation, and also that He continues to raise up iconographers for His Church, especially within the Anglican tradition!
This a beautifully crafted religious artwork. I would certainly be proud to have this inspirational piece on my study wall. Bless the Craftswoman.
